Artist's Comments

Well, I'm still trying to get a character from a dream down on paper. I didn't manage it, he looks less pure and angelic, and more whoreish and masculin ^^;. I will have to try again. Also, I'm currently in an anatomy for artists course, so I used this as a torso study (as that's what we're focused on at the moment), thus the open shirt. No, he wasn't supposed to be a manwhore, this was an anatomy study, Honest! ::blush::

Well, he's at an open air resturaunt, sipping from his soda bottle. He's just been surprised by the snapping of a camera ^^;

Done in Photoshop while marathoning the first season of Smallville over several days, so about 15 hours total (I also drew at random times when I needed homework breaks).

i hate to give critiques cause i really like this, but i've noticed this several times, so i figure i might as well and see what you think. i notice that you have a very precise style when you want to (i.e. hair, face, arms, clothing...even soda (pop ;-)) bottle. that is rather awesome. my critique is with the inconsistency with which the precision is sometimes employed. where it is a matter of distance and perspective, it makes sense that one thing would be blurred and one thing precise, but in some things (his chest, the front part of his chair), it seems as though a little more precision might add.

i hope that makes any sense. i'm really tired and should get to sleep...;P

at least i think i'm at least awake enough to know that your style and skills are hella tight! great job with this pic! :D

btw, nice effect with the curtains in the foreground. it's so natural that i almost didn't even notice it. it adds to the candid photo idea.

and plus thanks for the watch. now i guess i'll have to find some time to do something new...:-)
