Sprained Elbow

Thu Oct 6, 2005, 3:38 PM
Well, Serious lack of updates.... This is mostly due to rediculous amounts of work this semester. Three essay-heavy classes and the hardest programming class my university offers ^^; all that with an art class on top. Grrr.

Anyway, tuesday morning I was RUN OVER by a bicycle... I had to cross the bike lane to get to the door of the building I had my class in that morning. I guess I didn't check well enough before crossing, either that or she was going at a break-neck speed and came up behind me after I'd checked. So I found myself on the ground with a bicycle on my back, and it's rider to my side. Luckily the rider didn't split her skull open as she wasn't wearing a helmet. So, she yelled at me for being in the bike lane while I apologized profusely and tried to check on her. As she biked off, the pain shooting through my left arm (my DRAWING ARM) finally reached my brain. Luckily, after a few x-rays, it turned out that my arm was not broken, my elbow was just sprained. Let me tell you, a sprained elbow hurts more than any time I reset my dislocated shoulder or my recovery after shoulder and back surgury. ~.~ So yeah, the tora-chan has not been a happy critter this week. And then my art teacher yelled at me for trying to draw on an 8.5-by-11 sheet of paper today. Soooory, I can't move my elbow, at least the swelling has gone down enough now so that I can move my wrist a little and use my fingers again.... *pouts* She loved the picture I did with my right hand, as my lines were "so expressive" yeah, expressive in the sense that they expressed my frustration with the fact that my right hand doesn't move the way I want it to.... grrr

A new direction

Well, it looks like my life is about to get a bit more complicated, but things are looking up. In addition to the 4-year computer science degree that I'm pursuing, I have discovered that a local community college is offering a 2-year associates degree in sequential art (well, for me it will be concentrating on comic book illustration). Well, I'll be taking two art courses this summer. Hopefully this will help me get out of my current art slump.

One of these days I will have to get my self my own webspace and put up some of the comics that I created for the Tokyo Pop Rising Stars of Manga contest. Whoo boy... I need to get to work on my next attempt at that too.

Ah well, Couldn't go to A-Cen this year. *sigh* Maybe I'll be able to make it to J-fax.

I'm a self-centered jerk

Sorry for not updating in so long. Wow. I've been rather down as of late. School has been in major conflict with my art. I had to sacrifice entering the last Tokyo Pop RSM due to school overload. It's also really bogged down a set of cards and counters that I'm doing for a game. My style really has evolved greatly over the year... maybe I should start putting up my sketches in my scraps section... althoug they generally tend to be portraits of either catbois or my roleplaying characters ^^; I'm horrible.

Kiriban at 1000 hits

OMG... I'm over 900 hits *happy dance* thanks to you all :worship:

soooo..... whoever gets my 1000th pageview, please contact me... so that I may make you a present... >^____^<

'kay, sorry for the lack of updates lately, I've been actually doing some comission work, which has involved most of my completed drawing time. I'm hesitant to just post my pencil sketches... ~.~.... bweeh....

-Tora-chan out -

Full Metal AAAAAAACK!!!!

Thu Sep 30, 2004, 4:27 PM
Okay... just watched episode 41... yes, I'm behind in Full Metal Alchemist.... *twitch twitch* *Shreeiiiiiiiik!*

Okay... I love the series, but, ah, they abuse the characters sooooooo much.

Well, I'm back in the swing of things in college life. If you wanna know, I'm in my third year of college... though I have senior status... still, that doesn't mean I'll be graduating soon. I just switched my major from Astrphysics (rocket science) to computer science. Programming is fun.... just not when you sacrifice every weekend to work on programming projects(the ENTIRE WEEKEND from morning Saturday to midnight Monday, Friday nights are for other homework and physical therapy) Blah.... so yeah, major creativity/ time deprivation is occuring........... Rant rant rant...

Well, that's your hyper rant update for the night. Ah, I wish I could just be an art student... that is, if the art department wern't so incredably gallary oriented (read as: haters of everything I love to draw...)..... ghweee.
